Alicia Key's latest video Teenage Love Affair. The song is not only great the video is too. I am absolutely in love with it. The whole concept is great (it is a music video remake off the film School Daze, a Spike Lee Classic). She has such a presence (even in a music video) and you never want to take your eyes of the tv. Alicia Keys i truly think you deserve to be labeled a diva because you are truly becoming someone i admire and look up to (as should other young women). She has evolved so much from her first single Girlfriend and i can't wait to see what she has in store for later albums.

The Moral To The Story Is

as i approach the end of my sophmore year in college, i am realizing how fast the years are going by.

a little too fast for my taste

before you know it i will be graduating with a bachelors degree and not knowing what to do with my life.

i suppose i have to find a job once i graduate. well it wouldn't even be considered a job, by that point i will be 21 years old with a career. yes, 21. the most anticipated age.

is it normal that i am not excited? i am the opposite of a 19 year old living in new york city suprisingly. i rarely go out, and i haven't drank in about a year or so,(which isn't a bad thing, but for a second year college student it isn't nomal, ha).

what can i say i have done that is incredible from 18 up until i reach age 21. nothing. absolutely positively nothing.

i wonder if there is such a thing as a late teen crisis. i am definitely having one. i guess i'm going to start doing the things that someone my age should be doing. traveling, going out on the weekends and having an incredible job where i can just blow off money.

school is ending and summer is the nothing but the best time for me to get this youth party started.

Lost In Thought

In a discussion with my friend Justin i realized how much people fail to appreciate a good person.

I have always been the type to go out my way for a friend, even if i hadn't known them that long.

I am a strong believer in maintaining good relationships with people because you will always need that person to help you out in some way shape or form.

I would even go as far as "taking the shirt off my back" for a friend or significant other.

I suppose i did a little too much. Those very people i went out my way for were the first to shit on me.

Lily Allen went blonde. Don't know about everyone else but i know it took me by surprise. It was rather disappointing. Amy was the first to go blonde and now Lily (well recognized brunettes now join the category of playboy bunnies and bay watch "babes")

Melody Thornton of the Pussycat Dolls absolutely deserves her own album. I love Nicole Scherzinger but Melody is the voice of the group. Her voice is powerful and reminiscent of Christina Aguilera.



I found this track, "Go To Far" by Jibbs featuring Melody Thornton, randomly searching on youtube and thought it was cool.
The video is lame and the rapper is eh, but i like the fact they sampled one of my favorite Janet Jackson songs.

What Lies Behind What We See.

I beat myself up from time to time when i realize how foolish i was for believing the fairytale i created in my head about love.

Love is dead and it is extremely rare that people have a fairytale ending.
Happiness ends faster than sadness.

I guess that means all the trouble i went through was for nothing.

The same nothing that obviously wouldn't last forever.

I suppose that could be the reason i am not completely unhappy with the fact that i am single.

It gets to me occasionally but honestly out of all the guys i have 'been with' not one of them truly knew about my mind. They simply knew i was a "chill girl".

They usually discovered how "amazing and deserving" i was too late.

But i have always been deserving.

Now forever means nothing to me.

Promises are a waste of words. Instead, I want to hear what you won't do for me but with me instead. Don't make empty promises that you clearly will never be able to keep.

The spring semester is finishing up and i haven't really had time to post. On the school grind. I am working my best to post at least once a day. Today you guys got lucky, i was truly in a blogging mood.

this is the new paris tokyo video. i am just wondering did the coolest video drop yet? (i could be extremely late) i saw a commercial for the making of the video on BET but where is the video? I feel that the coolest had more depth than paris, tokyo and i was really looking foward to see what the creative minds behind that song would put together when it came to visuals.

As for this video, i am not feeling it what so ever. Lupe went out his comfort zone and it completely crashed and burned. He isn't himself and you get a huge sense of that in this video. He is lupe. He needs to stop trying to be like Jay-Z and Kanye and stick to the nerd that we fell in love with a few years back.

If i turned on mtv and this video came on i would most likely change the channel.

New Job Es or Nujabes?

Have you ever closed your eyes and just felt the music coming through your speakers? I get that emotion everytime i turn on lady brown, reflection eternal and feather.



Only a handful of Nujabes tracks but even a handful of his tracks/instrumentals give you that experience (yes, each and every single time). His instrumentals are a mix of electric yet peaceful sounds and when paired with rappers like Cise Star, Shing and Substantial you instantly fall in love.

For those of you that are familiar with him your definitely on your music game and for those of you reading on him for the first time i definitely suggest you try him out. you won't be disappointed. take a listen to some of my personal favorites.

i like the song but why on earth would you make love in a club? Thats kind of nasty. I mean the video is great but as Wendy Williams said earlier this afternoon on 107.5 fm, don't try it yourself. And for those of you that have tried to have sexual 'engagements' in a club before this song do not try again thinking its ok because it has recently become a public 'thought'.

Poetry has always been something that sparked my interest. It is amazing the amount of power you have with words. Words are weapons. Words share knowledge. Words are what i hang on to. estelle's album is on point and i can't stop listening to it. she has tons of great tracks that are all unique. nothing on the album is similiar which is definitely a nice twist since so many artists make tracks that sound exactly the same.

Ashanti is pulling a Christina Aguilera and trying to reinvent herself. I applaud her, she is doing an incredible job, she looks stunning in the video and already has tons of people singing along to her song The Way That I Love You. Including myself. Ashanti you never disappoint with your classic r&b tracks that every girl can relate to and videos that guys simply drool over.

Kim previously dated the RnB singer Ray J. and got caught up in scandal as so many celebrity personalities do. The videos were of Kim's sexual engagements with Ray J. during their relationship.

Ray J. recently dropped a new single called "Sexy Can I", extremely catchy if i must say so myself but unfortunately it seems like some type of attack towards Kim, a subliminal almost. With lyrics like "It's a kodak moment, let me go and get my camera All I wanna know is, sexy can I" you can't help but wonder. Not too long ago Ray J. was a guest on The Tyra Show. After hearing this song a few times, i am curious to know if his appearance on the tyra show was a publicity stunt. Pretending to sympathize with Kim's negative publicity. We may never know. I like the song none the less.

i have no idea how i feel about the justin & madonna collabo. i turned on the television and saw the two of them dancing and all i remember thinking was the young and the old. the song is ok and the beat is fierce. i mean i expected a little better from the classic madonna and the talented justin timberlake. i like the fact that timbaland is in the video, i guess that would be because i'm a huge fan of his. other than that, i could take or leave this song.

when i first heard her track 'the truth' i was instantly hooked, logged on itunes and beasted to download her album. sorry illegal downloaders you won't find her on limewire. Si*Se is a New York City native artist. Indie music with a hint of latin vibes that you can't help but fall in love with. Don't you just love New York and it's good music? I hope to see Si*Se in concert, i hear she is quite the performer.

Change For The Better Or The Worse.

I guess what they say is true, practice what you preach. Truth be told, i am guilty of not practicing what i preach. I've been told i give incredible advice but i've noticed the people i advise happen to share the same personality traits as myself.

I have to take my own advice. I've been told one time too many and i think it's about time i start listening to all those people that told me to just follow my own words. I guess you could say it's easier said than done but that would be the weak answer. Instead i am going to start making myself happy.

I've decided to start dieting. I start tomorrow. Wish me luck.

For now i am going to eat my last round of oreos and milk since i won't have that for a good long while.
